"To be Bamar means to be Buddhist" is the saying of this people. With 99.99 percent of the 31 million Bamar people professing Buddhism, this appears to be true. The Buddhist religion is so deeply ingrained in their culture that is makes bringing the gospel of Christ difficult and complex. Missionaries in this area want to bring Christ in understandable terms to the unreached Bamar people, so that the end result will be a biblical, indigenous church movement. The process of researching and networking in order to gain the best understanding of the Bamar people and their culture is currently in progress. A team is forming and initial steps will include team training, research and networking.
